A selection of animations showing jitterbug "duals". These have been generated by polar reciprocation. The dual's shape changes through the rhombic dodecahedron, regular pentagonal dodecahedron, and cube which are duals to, respectively, the cuboctahedron, icosahedron and octahedron.

scaled dual vertices  Med    Lrg
Description : The vertices reciprocal to the polyhedral jitterbug's face planes are shown as balls. Their positions have been adaptively scaled to fit on the screen in order to help show their relative positions.

scaled dual combination  Med    Lrg
Description : A polyhedral jitterbug, in green, is shown with the vertices reciprocal to its face planes as red balls. The dual vertex positions have been adaptively scaled to fit on the screen.

dual combination  Med    Lrg
Description : A polyhedral jitterbug, in green, is shown with the skeleton of its dual (by polar reciprocation) as blue struts. The dual has not been scaled, so when a face plane of the jitterbug passes through the centre point the corresponding dual vertex is positioned at infinity.

dual combination  Med    Lrg
Description : The skeleton of a polyhedral jitterbug, as red struts, is shown with the faces of its dual (by polar reciprocation), in purple. The dual has not been scaled, so when a face plane of the jitterbug passes through the centre point the corresponding dual vertex is positioned at infinity.

partial jitterbug dual  Med    Lrg
Description : The jitterbug itself can also be found within the dual. The relative vertex positions of a ball jitterbug are the duals of the face planes corresponding to the twelve faces that make the six squares of the jitterbug cuboctahedron. This is shown as a partial polyhedral jitterbug, in green, beside its dual vertices, as red balls. The dual vertex positions have been adaptively scaled to maintain the size of a ball jitterbug.
